Most ghost tours sell atmosphere.

Danielle Nicole sells access.

In a city dominated by spectacle, Vegas Afterlife Ghost Tours and Paranormal Investigations takes a different route. Small groups. Real equipment. No scripted reactions. No manufactured fear.

What began as personal research — archives, equipment, late-night investigations — turned into a business when strangers started asking to join her. Not for entertainment. For authenticity.

Las Vegas may be known for nightlife and reinvention, but Danielle is focused on what the city buried in the process.

And she’s built a business around it.

Get to Know Founder Danielle Nicole of Vegas Afterlife Ghost Tours & Paranormal Investigations

Marketer on the Run: What inspired you to launch Vegas Afterlife Ghost Tours and Paranormal Investigations, and what moment made you realize this needed to be more than just a hobby?

Danielle Nicole: Vegas Afterlife started because I was obsessed with the stories no one was telling. Everyone talks about the Strip, but nobody talks about the miners, the mob blood, the fires, the suicides, the forgotten spirits.

At first, I was just investigating for myself. Researching. Showing up with equipment. Digging into archives. But the moment it shifted from hobby to business was when I realized strangers were asking to come with me. They didn’t want a campfire story — they wanted a real investigation. That’s when I understood this wasn’t just curiosity. It was a calling… and it needed structure, insurance, permits, contracts. Not just EMF meters.

M: Las Vegas is known for nightlife and entertainment — what makes the haunted history here so unique compared to other cities?

DN: Las Vegas is layered. You have:

  • Wild West mining violence
  • Mob control and organized crime
  • Casino-era suicides and fires
  • Reinvention after reinvention

This city was built fast, burned fast, and buried things fast. Unlike cities that grew slowly over centuries, Vegas exploded. Money, greed, ego, tragedy — all compressed into a short timeline.

That creates intensity. The spirits here don’t feel sleepy. They feel charged.

M: What’s the one location in Las Vegas that still makes you uneasy — even after all this time?

DN: The underground tunnels downtown.

Not because of ghosts — because of residue. Human suffering leaves something behind. When you’ve investigated enough places, you can feel the difference between historic energy and recent trauma.

There are spots under this city that still feel raw.

And I respect that.

M: How do you balance storytelling, historical research, and actual paranormal investigation in your tours and private ghost hunts?

DN: I don’t separate them.

  • History sets the stage
  • Storytelling gives context
  • Investigation tests the claims

If you only tell stories, it’s theater. If you only wave equipment around, it’s noise.

Vegas Afterlife blends documented history with live, hands-on investigation. Guests don’t just listen — they participate. They ask questions. It’s immersive, but it’s grounded.

M: What separates Vegas Afterlife from other ghost tours in the city — is it the locations, the research, the equipment, or your personal approach?

DN: It’s not just one thing. It’s:

  • Real investigation equipment
  • Small group sizes
  • Access to locations most tours don’t get
  • My research obsession
  • And the fact that I don’t script reactions

We don’t fake fear. We don’t manufacture activity. If nothing happens, I say nothing happened.

That honesty builds long-term credibility.

We are also the ONLY locally owned and operated ghost tour company in Vegas.

M: What’s the biggest misconception people have about ghost tours or paranormal investigations?

DN: That it’s all smoke and mirrors.

Real paranormal investigation is 90% patience. It’s quiet. It’s documentation. It’s debunking your own excitement.

If something unexplained happens, it’s usually subtle — not Hollywood.

M: Have you ever had a skeptic leave an investigation convinced something unexplained happened?

DN: Yes.

And the best ones aren’t the ones who scream — it’s the ones who go quiet.

I’ve watched skeptics rationalize everything all night… and then freeze when something directly responds to their question.

They don’t always say they believe. But they don’t argue anymore.

M: What’s the most emotionally heavy investigation you’ve ever done?

DN: Investigations involving documented violence against women.

When a location has repeated patterns of abuse or tragedy, the atmosphere feels heavier. Not scary — heavy.

Those nights aren’t about thrill. They’re about respect.

M: Has anything ever followed you home?

DN: No. Because I’m disciplined. I close investigations properly. I don’t provoke recklessly. And I don’t romanticize attachment.

Energy doesn’t “follow” you unless you invite it.

M: How do you market your tours and paranormal investigations in a city that’s already saturated with entertainment options?

DN: By not trying to compete with nightclubs.

Vegas Afterlife isn’t about flashing lights — it’s about experience.

I focus on:

  • High-intent audiences
  • Paranormal communities
  • SEO and organic discovery
  • Strategic collaborations
  • And word of mouth

I don’t market to everyone. I market to the curious.

M: How do you compete with the Strip when you don’t have a casino-sized marketing budget?

DN: I don’t.

Casinos sell spectacle. I sell access.

I build authority, relationships with historic properties, and immersive experiences that can’t be replicated by a billboard.

Depth beats volume.

M: Who are your tours really for? Tourists looking for fun? Locals? True believers? Skeptics?

DN: All of them.

  • Tourists looking for something different
  • Locals who’ve never heard the real history
  • True believers
  • Skeptics who want to test it

Vegas Afterlife is for people who want more than a bar crawl.

M: What channel actually drives the most bookings — word of mouth, social media, travel platforms, Google search?

DN: Google search and organic discovery.

When someone types “paranormal investigation Las Vegas” and finds us… that’s high intent.

Word of mouth is second. A good investigation creates repeat guests.

M: Is your business seasonal, or does demand for the paranormal stay steady year-round in Las Vegas?

DN: Fall is strongest. October is obviously huge.

But honestly? The paranormal doesn’t sleep in Vegas. Tourism is year-round here, so demand stays steady. The marketing strategy just shifts.

M: What has been the biggest challenge operating a business in Las Vegas — is it competition, regulation, staffing, or something else?

DN: Noise.

There’s constant competition for attention. Not just other tours — concerts, conventions, residencies, casinos.

You have to be sharp. Strategic. Consistent.

M: How do you build trust with customers who may be skeptical about paranormal investigations?

DN: Transparency.

I explain equipment. I encourage debunking. I never guarantee activity.

If something happens, we document it. If it doesn’t, we move on.

Trust comes from honesty.

M: What’s something you tried in marketing that completely flopped? What was something you didn’t expect to be a success which ended up being huge?

DN: Flop: Trying to appeal too broadly.

When I tried to market to “everyone,” conversion dropped.

Unexpected success: Leaning fully into “real investigation experience.” The more specific and serious I became, the stronger the brand got.

M: If you could go back to day one of starting Vegas Afterlife, what would you tell yourself about running the business side of it?

DN: Treat it like a business immediately. Get contracts. Track metrics. Protect your brand. Own your IP.

Passion built it.

The structure scaled it.

Are You Excited to See What Goes Bump in the Night?

The paranormal doesn’t sleep in Las Vegas.

But neither does competition.

What makes Vegas Afterlife different isn’t just the investigations or the history. It’s the discipline. The refusal to script fear while ensuring a unique experience every time they’re out and about with guests.

In a market saturated with spectacle, Danielle built something quieter — and more credible.

And in doing so, she turned curiosity into a calling, and a calling into a structured, sustainable business.
